This project consisted of constructing a new FrontRunner commuter rail station and a second track on the existing commuter rail line built by a Stacy Witbeck-managed joint venture. The station included the station platform, platform canopies, and associated amenities and systems.
The station platform was constructed by extending the existing stem wall footing between the active tracks and finished with a topping slab and a hydronic heating system for snow melt. The track consisted of approximately two miles of a second UTA track west of the existing UTA mainline, a new turnout, a new at-grade crossing, and a new gravel access road.
Union Pacific Railroad has tracks within this rail corridor to the east of the existing UTA tracks.
