This contract is to improve King County Metro Route 160 by installing RapidRide Stations in three cities in Seattle-Tacoma Metro: Renton, Kent, and Auburn. The 27-mile route will connect three major transit centers to better serve local residents and businesses. This project is one part of a system-wide initiative to improve commuter access in the south of King County.
Need
The route is planned to operate every 10 minutes during peak periods, every 15 minutes off-peak, and every 30 minutes late night. This will help meet a critical need for improved north-south transportation options in south King County, making it easier for passengers to travel to and from regional destinations and to access the network of local buses and trains. The BRT will serve enhanced transit connections with the RapidRide F Line BRT, the Sounder train in Auburn and Kent, and Sound Transit express bus service.
