This $40 million GC/CM project consisted of 2.6 miles of paved double track construction, nine stations, 26 intersection crossings, including seven crossings with King County METRO Trolley bus systems, major dry and wet utility relocations and improvements, roadway improvements and paving, complete traction power system, traffic signal upgrades, and a new streetcar maintenance facility and yard.
The alignment started at the downtown mall, through a neighborhood experiencing a revival, through areas with heavy commercial constructions, along the lake with high volumes of tourist and pedestrian traffic, and across some of the city’s busiest intersections. This project also required significant coordination with many public and private stakeholders and a high level of planning and scheduling to deliver the work successfully.
