McKalla Station: Now Open!
The Red Line McKalla Station in Austin, TX is officially open for revenue service. Our project team gathered with city officials, Austin FC fans, and various community members to celebrate this milestone for CapMetro, marking a significant step forward for their Project Connect initiative.
The community also enjoyed free fare to the opening season Austin FC game at Q2 stadium as part of the festivities. Our team delivered the project on time and on budget, solidifying our reputation and helping us establish a stronger presence in the region. Read more about the project below.
McKalla Station is one of 10 stops along the 32-mile Red Line alignment that runs from Downtown Austin to Leander. A second track and three new station platforms (northbound, southbound, and event platform) have been added in addition to canopies, walls, benches, landscaping, wayfinding signage, and communication systems.
Major earthwork went into this project alongside drainage improvement, retaining walls, grade crossing, and track and signal improvements.
Congratulations to CapMetro for this milestone.
