The Sound Transit L2 line opened to the public on April 27th. We enjoyed celebrating the newest stretch of the transit system with the project team, state officials, and the Bellevue and Redmond communities.
The Stacy Witbeck/Atkinson E335 joint venture constructed a 1.9-mile segment of this extension in the heart of downtown Bellevue, WA, including a half-mile-long elevated guideway structure, four-passenger stations, track construction in-tunnel, at-grade, and on-elevated guideway, as well as extensive utility and civil work.
A message from Matt Johnson, E335 Project Manager:
Thank you to all the amazing people who contributed to the E335 project. It has been almost 10 years since the pre-construction team began laying the groundwork for our success on this project. Construction began in 2017, and now here we stand - trains running, stations buzzing with people, able to look back on a project that we can truly call a success. A sincere thank you from me to everyone who has been a part of the E335 project.
